Our predictions for Sony’s E3 Conference

There seems to be a difference going into this years E3 conferences. You have Sony who currently have the momentum (in my opinion anyways), we know they have games on the horizon that they announced last year and the start of this year has been very strong.

The question is, can Sony keep this flow going? It does seem like they’ve got the timing right with game releases so far this year and this is what they need to keep going, especially going into the busy end of year period and start of 2018.

We know from last years E3 we saw quite a few games, a lot of which haven’t released yet, can we expect to see more of those games, or will there be some more surprises in store?

If I’m being totally honest, I would love to see a bit of both, I want to see and know more about the games that were announced last year as well as a few surprises to keep the flow of excitement going.
We know about the third party deals that Sony have got with Destiny 2, Call of Duty: WWII and Red Dead Redemption, so no doubt we will see some of those on the Sony stage as well, but what other games should we be expecting to see?

Days Gone

Announced at last years E3, a Zombie survival game, that looks mental… From the Demo’s that we have seen, this looks insane with the amount of Zombies that are on the screen at the same time! If this is how the final game plays out, this will be looking to push game play and game physics to its limits!
Release date guess would be some point in 2018. I don’t think it’s going to release this year.

Another game announced at E3 last year and one I am looking forward too! A fully open world Spiderman game would be amazing and if Insomniac pull this off, this could open to door to other comic worlds making the same spin.

Usually these type of games sink faster than the titanic, the usual movie tie in’s don’t do well, mainly because they’re usually a money spinner and aren’t made very done. However, done properly this could be massive and could be the open world game that Marvel fans have been after.

Release date guess for Spiderman, this could be an end of 2017 to early 2018.

God of War

This was one of those games that genuinely shocked me, in a nice way, I wasn’t expecting a new God of War to be announced, and from the reaction of the audience at the conference, neither were they.
Not much has been said about this one since, so I think it could be a while off yet, my guess for the release date is going to late 2018 and think we will get more from this at E3 2018. I could be wrong, but my feeling for this is next year.

This is another one which not a lot has been mentioned about since it was released last year, so hopefully we will get to see some more from the game, hopefully some gameplay and a release date. I would like to say that this is going to be a late 2017, but my gut feeling is that this game is going to released in the first half of 2018.

The Last of Us: Part 2

This is another game where it was announced last year with a rather awesome trailer, but no gameplay, fingers crossed this year we will get to see some game play. But again I think this is going to be a 2018 release. Quite a hard one to predict really, it depends on how much is shown.

Uncharted: Lost Legacy

Due to be released on 22nd August, I can see this not getting much coverage at the event, maybe another trailer, but I think a lot of the build up for this new chapter for Uncharted is going to be throughout July and August.

Death Stranding

I think we will see more of this at this years E3, but I’m not entirely sure how much though. I am positive that we will see gameplay and get to know what the game is actually about, but again my release prediction for this is going to be late 2018 maybe even early 2019.
After the debarkle of what happened with Metal Gear Solid V, I thin Kojima is going to want to get this one perfect.

Crash Bandicoot

Crash comes back to us 2 weeks after E3, so there is a good chance we will get more on the game, however there are plenty of trailers coming out at the moment, so Crash may only get a small part in the conference.

Sucker Punch’s new game

There has been talk that Sucker Punch has a new game in the works and that hopefully we will get to see it at this years E3. Could it be a new infamous game or is there a new IP in the works? Fingers crossed that we will get to see something of it if the rumours are true.

The above is just predictions to what I think will happen at E3, hopefully I’m not going to be too far off, but I guess only time will tell, we have less than a month to go and I have got to admit that I am quite excited to see what Sony has to offer with us and hopefully keep the momentum of games coming.
Some of the above maybe reserved for Gamescom in Germany, either way it looks like a steady road of games ahead for the PS4.
