Games I’m Looking Forward To
I thought that I would give a rundown of some of the games that I’m looking forward to getting my hands on over the next 6 months or so.
So without further ado, here is my list of games that I’m looking to.
I am liking how this one is shaping up, if it plays just like the Arkham series then I think that I could be putting a lot of hours into this game.
It’s going to be interesting being able to play as 4 different characters and not one of them being Batman, I like the take on the game is shaping up and I can’t wait to play it in October.
Football Manager 23
At the time of writing this choice is the proverbial elephant in the room, mainly because it hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s definitely coming, and given previous years, it won’t be long before we start to hear something about it. I’ve played the series and have every game since it started in 2005, and even before that when Sports Interactive were the developers for the Championship Manager games, I believe I played those pre-2000, I know I have a disk copy of the amazing 00/01 season laying around somewhere!
Skull and Bones
This one may have had a rocky ride to start from what we’ve heard in terms of development, but from the reveal event, I have to admit that I am sold on the game and cannot wait to get my hands on it. It’s good that I’ll be able to team up and play the game with my wife who is also excited to play.
What excites me about Skull and Bones? The whole premise of it, I’m a massive fan of Sea of Thieves, and me and my wife sail the seas often in that, so it’s going to be nice to be able to play that with her and have a different adventure.
Now, this is one that I am really excited to play, and also so is my wife, so much so that I think come February when the game is released I will probably lose access to my Series X, so it’s a good job we have a Series S as well that I can use to play.
I love the Harry Potter world, so when there was word an open-world RPG game was being made my interest was piqued…. Then it was announced and I was sold on it. The delays have been disappointing, but I would rather have an excellent game when it releases rather than one that is riddled with annoying bugs. Saying that though, you never know these days.
God of War: Ragnarok
I really enjoyed the first God of War game so I’m looking forward to seeing where they take the story.
Those who know Norse Mythology will understand what Ragnarok is, the events that lead to it, and what happens during it. Are we going to see these events or a version at least laid out in the next game? This is one reason why I am excited to play this game, mainly because I love Norse mythology, but also, of just how good the first game was and how well it played.
I had never played a Diablo game before 3, and when it was released, the more I played, the more I got hooked, I loved the feeling of levelling up my character and being able to see them getting more powerful until I got to the point where I felt like THE ALMIGHTY JOON!
So when Diablo 4 was finally revealed, I got quite excited about it as it looked excellent and I can’t wait to get my teeth into another game. Especially after being able to go back and play through Diablo 2.
I’m not entirely sure what this game is going to entail, however, from the videos that have been released and what I’ve seen of it, it looks like it could be a very good game indeed and one I’m looking forward to trying out when it’s released.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2/ Wolverine
The first Spider-Man and Miles Morales games were superb, you can check out my review for Miles Morales here, so you can imagine my excitement that a second one has been announced, again, we haven’t seen too much of it at the moment, but if it’s anything like those it will be excellent.
Combine that with a new IP in wolverine being released, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what Insomniac does with this one as well. Both games are definitely in good hands here and let’s hope we hear more about them soon.
After the full reveal earlier in the summer, I am very much looking forward to playing through this. The size of the game seems immense, with I think around 1000 planets in the game. Surely they can’t all be visitable or be of sufficient size
After seeing the reveal earlier in the summer, Starfield does give me a No Mans Sky vibe which I’m OK with, but I’m just hoping it has its own identity as well, something that will separate it from the rest. I guess time will tell.
I love racing games and I love the Forza franchise, so when this was revealed earlier this summer it had me very excited. The way the game looked, the amount of detail in pretty much everything looked incredible and I can’t wait to load this onto my Series X and see what it has to offer firsthand.
This one for me goes without saying, I love the series, I thought the original 3 games were brilliant and I can’t wait to see what Playground Games does with this game.
These are the games that I am looking forward to that are coming anytime up until holiday 2023 (maybe longer for Fable) and a lot of them will be coming out in the first quarter of 2023.
