A plethora of Assassins Creed Announcements made at Ubisoft Forward event
The Ubisoft Forward event from Saturday night gave us a look at quite a few games/projects that the company is working on. One of the main announcements was to do with Assassins Creed, with it being the 15th anniversary of the series Ubisoft has wanted to do something special for the series, so, we all knew about Assassins Creed Mirage, and that we would get to see something from it, but I didn’t expect what followed:
Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Assassin’s Creed Mirage will follow the story of young Basim in Baghdad in 861, the story will show us how he went from a petty thief to a Master assassin.
In the ninth century CE, Baghdad is at its height, leading the world in science, art, innovation, and commerce. Amid its bustling urban landscape, a conflicted young orphan with a tragic past must navigate the streets to survive. Experience the story of Basim in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
You can check out the cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage below:
Assassin’s Creed Codename Red
The next game announced in the series is so far named Codename Red, it’s going to be set in Feudal Japan and this is a setting that a lot of people have been asking for. It’s the next mainline game in the series and there are no other details announced for it yet.
Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe
Again, not many details were announced for this one, the teaser trailer (which you can check out below) seems to point to a Witch Trials sort of setting, which if this is the case, I can’t wait for.
Assassins Creed Infinity
This isn’t a new game in the series, it looks like this is going to be a hub for everything assassins creed, and also from the announcements last night it looks like Ubisoft is trying to figure out a way to bring multiplayer back into the series, and from that, it also looks like that is part of what Infinity will be used for. It will be interesting to see what uses the hub has and how it will link everything together.
You can see from the timeline above that there is also something codenamed Jade, from what has been heard this is going to be an open-world Assassin’s Creed mobile experience. Make of that what you will but it will be interesting to see what that is going to be like.
One final announcement was made that there is also going to be a live-action Assassin’s Creed TV show to be shown on Netflix. Hopefully, more details of that will come along soon.
